The majority of the chapel was built in the thirteenth century, although parts of it may date back further to the sixth century when Saint Govan, a monk moved into a cave located on the site of the chapel. One legend suggests that Saint Govan is buried underneath the chapel’s altar.

The 12th-century St Davids Cathedral, built on the site of a much older religious buildings, is the reason for little St Davids’ outsize city status. Constructed from dusky purple sandstone, it’s one of Wales’ most iconic religious sites and sits tucked away in a sheltered vale beside the River Alun. Here you can learn about the history of St Davids, visit the impressive Treasury collection and enjoy home-cooked and locally sourced food at The Refectory

Narberth is a gorgeous little market town in the east of Pembrokeshire. Multicoloured Edwardian and Georgian buildings line the high street which has developed quite a reputation as a shopper’s heaven. Independent shops selling a whole range of exquisite items from fine art to fine food rub shoulders with vintage and antique shops. Then when a well-earned rest is needed, there are award-winning cafes, pubs and restaurants galore to rest your weary feet.

With plenty of places to eat, dine and shop, Saundersfoot is a small seaside resort in between Tenby and Amroth. It’s much more compact than Tenby and has a charm and character of its own. In many respects Saundersfoot is a much more accessible seaside resort: Saundersfoot beach is wide, sandy and has a blue flag.
